Bath, Maine

23 Aug
Leaving the RV in the camp ground we drove up the coast road via Scarborough, Portland, Falmouth and Yarmouth to Bath.
We stopped near one of the many lighthouses along the Maine cost and sat in these seats made of stone with metal supports.

Bath is a compact town that used to be one of the busiest boat building places along the Maine coast.  We visited the Maine Maritime Museum which was very informative and well laid out.  We saw a couple of jet aircraft doing a mirror loop-the-loop which we assumed was from the Naval Base at Brunswick.

  1. Why can't the Americans have their own names to towns and not nick ours. It's the 25th Bank Holiday Saturday and it's raining. Mark & Mandy

  2. Good to see those lovely blue skies - weather a bit iffy in the UK for this weekend. Has Alison had a go at driving the RV yet? I guess it is automatic and petrol engined? No doubt at 7 mpg still pretty expensive to run, even with petrol being pretty cheap in the US. I can remember filling the car up for $5 back in 1993!

    1. Alison hasn't driven the RV as her legs are to short and she can't reach the pedal's. We have filled the tank on the RV twice now and both times cost us over 100usd. Petrol works out at about 3.80usd per gallon.
